Congratulations to everyone who raced, and thanks for making it a successful event.
About the race: There is a lot that is new for 2008: New Organizers -- New Ideas -- New Singletrack. What is NOT new is that the Pajarito Punishment will, once again, live up to its name... it will be PUNISHING!
The course is entirely above 9,000 ft so expect thin air, green forests and challenging riding. The start will head onto National Forest land before returning onto the XC trails on Pajarito Mountain Ski Area. Gone is the infamously loose and endless grind up Pipeline Road... in its place are the kind of trails that make you want to ride – firm, flowing singletrack. The climbs are steep, curvy and technical. The descents are fast! This year the course will also be spectator-friendly. Racers will pass the Ski Area Lodge several times, so bring the crew to cheer you on.
